The Chinook is a large-bodied helicopter with an empty weight of 10,185 kg. The name of the helicopter is taken from the Indian name ‘Chinook’ developed by the United States since 1957.
Last Friday (29/01/2021), this twin-engine helicopter successfully landed aid with a total weight of 8 tons in two villages affected by the M6,2 earthquake. The two villages, Kalobang and Lemo-lemo, are isolated villages located in Ulumanda Subdistrict, Mamuju Regency, West Sulawesi (Sulbar). On the second shipment, the Chinook helicopter did not need to land. The rope hook is received by ground personnel to attach the rope hook with the cargo hook.
